Grundy Library Celebrates a Decade of Free Access to Local Museum and Cultural Institutions Since its inception in 2014, the Library has curated a distinctive collection of passes, empowering patrons to explore and engage with 25 different venues throughout the Philadelphia area. The Library's Museum Pass Program witnessed an impressive utilization, with passes being checked out 6,767 times between 2014-2023.

The Grundy Library offers many different fun and educational outreach options! We also offer training for educators, school library card drives, and library tours. Monday, May 8 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Grab your wands and robes for a potions class at the Library! Join us for a craft and a round of Butterbeer (non-alcoholic) inspired by the beloved Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling. This event includes making your own sensory bottle potion and one glass of Butterbeer per attendee. Registration is required, costumes are encouraged! This program is in conjunction with the Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine in Harry Potter’s World Exhibit produced by the National Library of Medicine. Cook the Book: Appetizers Saturday, June 1 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Join us for Cook the Book: Appetizers, when we'll explore recipes from the Library's collection. This is a great opportunity for cooks of all ages, skill levels and interests to share their love of cooking while trying new recipes from the library’s cookbook collection.

StoryWalk: Little Owl's Day at Grundy River Park Enjoy the Grundy Library's StoryWalk on our grounds along the river from April 16th until June 3rd featuring the book Little Owl’s Day by Divya Srinivasan. The StoryWalk is self-guided and includes activity prompts to explore! The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

STEM Saturdays Saturday, May 11 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Welcome to STEM Saturdays at the Library - a monthly program that brings the thrill of science, technology, engineering, and math to your local library! Each month, kids can dive into hands-on activities that explore the wonderful world of STEM. This is a drop-in program for youth in grades 2-8. Registration is not required.

Tuesday, May 14 & 28 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM You’re invited to join the Grundy Walking Club! Participants meet on the second and fourth Tuesday (March, April, May & June) for a one-mile stroll around historic Bristol Borough. We will meet inside the Library on the north side of the building (Youth area) before venturing outdoors. Remember to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Escorted by a staff member, Club members will enjoy the scenery of the nearby Delaware River, and the benefits of fresh air and exercise in good company. We’ll be striding the very streets walked by industrialist and U.S. Senator Joseph R. Grundy; Michael Dougherty, a U.S. Medal of Honor winner; and Averell Harriman, a ship manufacturer and WWII U.S. diplomat. A one-time 2024 signed waiver of participation is required to walk during these events. The waiver is available at each meeting date. Register today!

Do you want to expand your skills and learn a new trade? Have you considered learning how to code? With every Fiero Code workout and mission you complete, you’ll unlock gear that you can use to customize your own avatar. You can also display your work in a custom portfolio and share your favorite projects with parents, teachers, and friends. You can also register to compete in up to three Fiero Code Challenges each year and submit your projects for a chance to win prizes. These sessions are for students in 3rd grade through adults learners. Attendees can bring their own laptop or Chromebook or use one provided by Grundy Library. Registration is not required.

This event is designed for families with children ages 3 and up and will feature hands-on activities that explore the fascinating world of plants. Participants will learn about the different parts of a plant, how they grow, and the important role they play in our ecosystem. This event is a great way to spark a love of science and nature in young minds and inspire families to explore the world around them together.
