The Wreck of the Melville
January 31 @ 6:30pm Local author Mark Smeltz will discuss his work of fiction, The Wreck of the Melville. A lost manuscript from the 1800s reveals the trials and tribulations of Gordon, a budding journalist cursed with a restless spirit. After stowing away on a ship to meet his literary heroes traveling on board, Gordon is thrust into adventure and peril on the high seas and beyond.

Charles "Teenie" Harris
February 7 @ 6:00pm CPL is pleased to welcome Charlene Foggie-Barnett, archivist from the Carnegie Museum of Art, to present on the life and work of Charles "Teenie" Harris. Harris (1908-1998) was the preeminent photographer for The Pittsburgh Courier, one of the nation's most prominent Black newspapers photographing Pittsburgh's historic African American community from 1935 to 1975. Hear about Harris's life and get a firsthand look at his body of work -- an unparalleled chronicle of African American history and culture during the mid-twentieth century.

Tween Club Pokemon Wednesday, January 25 6:00-7:00pm Attention Pokemon Trainers, it's time to "Catch them All." Discuss Pokemon with other enthusiasts and complete a fun Pokemon themed craft or activity. If you play Pokemon Go, the Stop nearby will be lured during this event. Target audience is kids in grades 4 through 6.
