Virtual Adult Winter Reading Club
January 11 - February 12
Join our Adult Winter Reading Club. Visit https://eipl.org/r/wrc to register and submit reviews of the books you've been reading. For each review you submit, you can select a book from our prize cart. Additionally, each submission earns you a chance to win in our grand prize drawing at the end of the club. Pick up a kit between January 4th and January 30th. This craft can be done at any time and printed instructions are included. Caregivers may pick up kits but each student must be registered as supplies are pre-prepared.

Bring finished placemat to the Reference Desk by Saturday, January 30
Using special paper, vintage books and other materials, teens will create placemats for adults who participate in the Meals on Wheels program. These placemats will be donated to Meals on Wheels in Stony Brook. One (1) hour of community service will be given for this opportunity.

The Savvy Sightseer visits roadside question marks dotted around Nassau and Suffolk Counties. We will try and answer why they are there and perhaps who put them there. This video will be emailed out to all registered patrons.

In this virtual class, you will get a hands-on tutorial of your iPhone/iPad. Learn how to get online, understand important device settings, learn about the latest iOS system and discover tips and tricks. Use a computer for this zoom so you can focus on your iPad or iPhone. Watching is also welcome but this class is designed to be hands-on. Prerequisite: know your Apple ID and password.

Remote Printing at East Islip Public Library
You can use your personal computer (laptop or desktop), tablet and smartphone to print to the library's printer from anywhere. Visit www.eipl.org/print for instructions on how to upload or email your documents. Once received, we will hold on to the print job for 72 hours for you to come in at your convenience.
Brainfuse adds Live Chess Tutoring Services
Chess has become very popular during the pandemic, particularly so with the release of The Queen's Gambit on Netflix. Brainfuse is happy to announce that they have added live help to assist with this fun activity that improves analytic and strategic thinking. Their chess tutors have certifiable qualifications such as high Elo ratings (2000+), chess coaching experience and current or previous titles (i.e. expert/candidate master).

VITA GOES VIRTUAL
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Bethpage Federal Credit Union has made the decision to go completely virtual with Bethpage VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) in 2021. Bethpage Virtual VITA services will be available to tax payers by visiting www.lovebethpage.com/vita and completing the Bethpage Virtual VITA application. This application will enable you to create a virtual tax assistance appointment. All appointments are on a first come, first served basis and require online registration.
