Pick up a kit at the Reference Desk starting April 1st through the 30th. This craft can be done at any time and printed instructions are included. Caregivers can pick up the kits but each student must be registered as supplies are pre-prepared.

Diana Conklin: farmer, artist, maker. Create a dried flower heart wreath using dried flowers grown on Diana's East End farm. Hand colored for brightness and longevity, this wreath is made on a vine heart base, using fragrant herbs and dried flowers. This indoor wreath measures approximately 12"-14" wide. Kits will be available for pick up Thursday, April 8.

Learn to program a smart bulb to turn on and off and change colors. The first 15 patrons will be eligible to buy a smart bulb for only $5; to be paid at the Circulation Desk. Limit one per household. This is class two of four in the Smart Home Series. Bulbs available for pick up Thursday, April 8.

Authors Unlimited ONLINE
Saturday, April 17, 10:00 a.m. via ZOOM
This free program celebrates reading by connecting teens and authors. Attendees will get the chance to meet dynamic authors of young adult literature first at an author panel and then in smaller breakout sessions afterward. Attendees can earn three (3) hours of community service credit for attending and then filling out a survey at the end of the day. Town of Islip Launches Pothole Repair Hotline
The Town of Islip is asking for the public's help in the Town's effort to locate and fill potholes throughout its roadways. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done to prevent potholes, but with the public's assistance, roads can be back in shape in time for Spring.
Residents are encouraged to call 631-224-5380 to report a pothole location and details, or report the pothole online via https://islipny.gov/report
Town of Islip Shellfish Restoration Team Seeks Summer Interns
The Town of Islip Shellfish Culture Facility, located at 333 Bayview Avenue, East Islip, is looking for hardworking college students and junior or senior high school students that have a passion for marine science and resource sustainability and want to gain experience in the aquaculture field while earning college credit or volunteer hours.

Remote Printing at East Islip Public Library
You can use your personal computer (laptop or desktop), tablet and smartphone to print to the library's printer from anywhere. Visit www.eipl.org/print for instructions on how to upload or email your documents. Once received, we will hold on to the print job for 72 hours for you to come in at your convenience.

Project Hope is New York’s COVID-19 Emotional Support Helpline.
NY Project Hope Crisis Counselors understand what you are going through. Talking with a crisis counselor is always free, confidential, and anonymous, allowing you to talk freely about the issues that are affecting you. They will help you navigate these unusual times and take some of the burden off of your shoulders.
Project Hope Crisis Counselors will help you with anything from economic hardships to behavioral health issues. They understand there are a whole range of emotions you might be feeling and they will work through it with you. A Crisis Counselor will give you self-help tips and come up with a plan for you to be your own advocate. They have a multitude of resources available to you and would love to be the shoulder you lean on. After all, New Yorkers are in this together.
