Adults
Visit https://eipl.org/adultsrc to register and submit reviews of the books you've been reading (the link will also be available on our homepage). For each review you submit, you can select a book from our prize cart. Additionally, each submission earns you a chance to win in our grand prize drawing at the end of the club!
Teens, entering grades 7-12
For every book you read, simply submit a 3-5 sentence review on the form that's on the blog. Each book review will earn you a virtual raffle ticket that can be entered into the raffle drawing of your choice. For every five book or ten graphic novel submissions, you will get one entry in the grand prize raffle...

Another New Lawn Game Has Been Added to Our Library of Things! A brand new Croquet set joins Giant Jenga, Badminton, Cornhole, Bocce, Kanjam, Ring Toss, and Giant Four in a Row. Two games per family can be borrowed for up to 3 days. Contact the Reference Desk to reserve a game for your summer events.
The Library Loans Wi-Fi Hotspots
Hotspots are free to borrow, easy to use and allow you to connect your laptop, tablet and other Wi-Fi enabled devices to the Internet.
They are perfect to take on vacation; small and portable, the device will work anywhere covered by the Sprint Network.
Hotspots can be borrowed with an adult East Islip Library card in good standing for a maximum of 14 days per month per household with each household allowed two reservations in any month. Hotspot cannot be renewed.

Why wait until the last minute to get your boating license? New York State Safe Boating Classes are now mandatory for anyone operating a boat, watercraft or Jet Ski in NY State (everyone regardless of age MUST have a safe boating certificate by the end of 2025). This class also certifies students 14 years old or older to operate a Jet Ski in NY State. Students must be at least 10 years old to attend the class. Please bring $40 in cash to the Reference Desk to register. Students must attend all three classes, in the library, to receive certification.

This craft can be done at any time and printed instructions are included. Caregivers can pick up the kits but each student must be registered as supplies are pre-prepared.

Enjoy a WILD encounter with the Wolf Conservation Center's ambassador wolves - all from the comfort and safety of your own home! Viewers will learn about the history and biology of wolves in North America, and will also potentially see some of the endangered red wolves and Mexican gray wolves that call the WCC home. We know how much you love having your picture taken in front of the green screen during Comic Con. Even though we're going virtual for the day, we are offering to take your picture in front of the screen in the library during the week leading up to Comic Con. The Town of Islip CDA has grant funds for tenants/renters who have been financially impacted by the pandemic. These grants are designed to pay rent and utility arrears and are paid directly to the landlord or utility company.

NY Project Hope Crisis Counselors understand what you are going through. Talking with a crisis counselor is always free, confidential, and anonymous, allowing you to talk freely about the issues that are affecting you. They will help you navigate these unusual times and take some of the burden off of your shoulders.
Project Hope Crisis Counselors will help you with anything from economic hardships to behavioral health issues. They understand there are a whole range of emotions you might be feeling and they will work through it with you. A Crisis Counselor will give you self-help tips and come up with a plan for you to be your own advocate. They have a multitude of resources available to you and would love to be the shoulder you lean on. After all, New Yorkers are in this together.
