Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Library
National Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15. It is a month-long celebration to celebrate and honor the culture, achievements and contributions of Hispanics and Latinos in the United States.
People of Hispanic and Latinx heritage encompass many different countries and cultures. We hope to share some of these cultures with you through Spanish and English bilingual booklists and many different events for all ages, starting September 7. Check out this blogfor more information.

MORE FROM THE LIBRARY
September is National Preparedness Month, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time.
Now is an important time to think about preparedness, as extreme weather conditions could trigger a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff. Learn more here.
Make sure to sign up for AlertSCC, Santa Clara County’s official emergency alert and warning system. Notifications may include fire, earthquake, severe weather, and crime. You can also find instructions on what to do during an emergency.
Amytha has spent 16 years working for SCCLD, all for the Bookmobile program. Today, SCCLD has two vehicles that cover over 1,000 square miles and make over 100 stops a month at senior centers, schools, rural areas, and unincorporated portions of the County that are far from any library.
Congratulations, Amytha and thank you for your dedication to your patrons, community partners and colleagues!
