Animated Storybooks Animated stories and illustrations could potentially better help children with comprehension, according to a study available through the National Library of Medicine, as young readers are able to see parts of the illustration that are important for understanding the story. Our Online Library offers three resources for families who would like to try animated books. Weston Woods: Explore children’s literature classics and modern favorites as they come to life with interactive videos. Includes closed captions and available in English, Spanish and Mandarin. Kanopy Kids: Enjoy classic characters like Goldilocks, the Three Little Pigs and newer favorites like the Pigeon and Knuffle Bunny. Scholastic Bookflix: Classic video storybooks are paired with related nonfiction books to build a love of reading and learning. Enjoy animated storybooks in English and Spanish.
