Craft Wonderful Memories with the Library! It may be hard to believe, but December is just a few days away! The holidays are here, and we are offering a number of programs to help you create handmade crafts and gifts. For adults, we are offering two wreath making workshops. Join us at Saratoga Library on December 3 for the first event, or at Los Altos Library on December 10 for the second. Please register at the Adult Reference Desk at each respective library to save your spot. Find additional books to make wreaths for any season, available here. Gilroy Library is hosting two holiday card making programs for adults and teens on Wednesday, December 8 and Saturday, December 11. To be sure everyone has an opportunity to join us, please register for one program only. Can't attend either? We've got you covered with these recommended reads. Whip up some homemade treats to gift to friends and loved ones with these books, and find other gifts you can make here. We also invite patrons to try out CreativeBug, where you can find over 1,000 art and craft videos on everything for the DIYer! The library is the place to be to make December a month to remember!

Guiding Young Readers The Library has a number of resources to help parents and caregivers teach children how to read. The Hanson Reading Phonics System uses organized and fun ways to teach children the names and sounds of letters, as well as how to teach children to read words. Also explore our Early Learning page on our website to find tips and activities that help build pre-reading skills, including a monthly pre-literacy activities calendar and the Ready Rosie app, with short daily activities to practice with your little ones.

Transform Your Community GivingTuesday was created in 2012 with a simple goal: encourage people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a global movement that inspires people to give, whether it is giving your time, a donation, or the power of your voice. Get out there and make someone smile, help out a neighbor or a stranger, show up for an issue people care about, or give to help those in need. Every act of generosity counts!
