Tips to Prepare for Winter The recent rain and colder temperatures are reminders that winter is on the way. The Winter Solstice is next week, on Tuesday, December 21. Now is the time to start thinking about cold weather safety. Simple measures include wearing extra outer clothing and making sure to check on older adult family members and neighbors who may need additional support. Residents can also sign up for AlertSCC, the county’s official emergency alert and notification system. Alerts can include fire, earthquake, severe weather, and crime incidents that affect your neighborhood. Be prepared and stay safe this winter season!
