Celebrating Asian/Pacific American Heritages

May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, recognizing the contributions of Americans of Asian and Pacific Islander ancestry who have enriched our history and will continue to do so in the future.

This year's theme is tied to the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.

We are marking the month with several brand new programs. Register for a presentation about Chinese migrant laborers who helped build the Transcontinental Railroad on May 16. Join our brand new Mandarin Book Club Online, which starts on May 14.

For kids, we are offering Origami Online, which is live-streamed on Facebook. Families can also celebrate by virtually visiting a museum exhibition.
