It's Back to School Time!

A SCCLD library account is a student’s #1 school supply!

We have books and research materials on many topics in all of our libraries and librarians that can point you in the right direction. Of course, sometimes people can’t make it to the library – and that’s where our Online Library can help students with homework assignments.

Find encyclopedia databases, dictionaries and reference books on our Research page. Our Learning and Test Prep page offers resources such as HelpNow by Brainfuse, where users can get live tutoring on any subject 7 days a week!

We wish all students a successful school year!

KIDS AND FAMILIES

Early Learning Opportunities
Early learning has the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of children, their families and the community. Children can learn social, emotional, and academic skills that prepare them for school success.

The Santa Clara County Office of Education has a website that aims to connect families to early learning programs in the County. Here you can find childcare & preschool programs, as well as school enrollment information, including information for preschool and transitional kindergarten.

To see if you qualify for low-cost or free programs, please visit enrollsantaclara.org.

TEENS AND ADULTS

Teen Volunteer Program
Hey teens, there's a way to earn volunteer hours: Teens STREAM+.

Teens STREAM+ gives teens the opportunity to make short videos about subjects including Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math, and more.

Teens can fill out proposals, and once their idea is approved by a Teen Librarian and their video submitted, they will earn anywhere from two to eight community service hours.

This is a great way for teens to use their voice, be creative and share their expertise. See some examples on our YouTube channel.
Access Newspapers Digitally
Your SCCLD library card gives you free access to major local, national and international newspapers.

Find current publications such as the Mercury News, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal on our website. Our free eResource, PressReader offers magazines and newspapers in 60+ languages from 120+ countries worldwide.
