Early Learning Opportunities Programs such as preschool, transitional kindergarten, or kindergarten help prepare young children for school by developing their cognitive, social, emotional, and language skills. Parents and caregivers can also find additional resources on our website. This includes access to ReadyRosie, a resource for parents on how to develop early literacy skills for their little ones. ABCmouse has more than 8,500 activities to help build a strong education foundation for children.

Baby Sign Language Baby sign language can help parents and caregivers communicate with infants until the little ones are ready to develop speaking skills. Join us on Wednesdays in August at 11 a.m. for Baby Sign Language. Miss Stefanie will teach you signs based on American Sign Language that you can use to read and sing to your baby. Virtual Film Discussion is Back Good films, great discussion, all from the comforts of home! Join us on Saturdays at 6 p.m. for a lively group discussion on a film watched through our free video streaming service, Kanopy.

Special Virtual Event: Women Innovators Revolutionizing Food We are hosting an engaging panel discussion about women innovators from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 14. Climate change has brought a growing number of challenges to farmers in the United States. A fast-growing sector called "agtech" has emerged, opening doors of opportunity to women entrepreneurs and innovators who are creating technologies to tackle issues, such as labor shortages and water management. Hear from an award-winning writer, a small acreage urban farmer and a sustainable food advocate. Register for this special virtual event.

Get Expanded Online Access to The Mercury News Get expanded access to The Mercury News, the largest local newspaper for Santa Clara County. We are now offering full online access from inside the library on library-provided computers, as well as the Library’s Wi-Fi. In addition, patrons can now use 24 or 72-hour remote access.

Change to Curbside Holds Pickup Hours Starting Monday, August 2, our community libraries* will offer curbside holds pickup Monday-Saturday from 3-4 p.m. Please continue to make an appointment online and call when you arrive at your designated library. *Curbside service is not available at Woodland Library or Campbell Express Library.

Join the Library with an Instant Free eCard If you live in Santa Clara County and do not have a library card with the Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD), or would like additional household members to have their own library accounts, the instant free eCard is for you. On a temporary basis during the COVID-19 crisis, eCards are available to all residents who live within Santa Clara County with a valid residential mailing address (P.O. Box not accepted). |
