How many books did you read?
This Saturday marks the end of our Summer Reading program, Reading Colors Your World. That means that it is time to finish up those final books, tally up the number of books that you have read, and complete your one or more activities, if you have not done so already. Those who log five books or more and at least one activity into Beanstack will win a special prize*. You can find the full details on our website.

Even though the Summer Reading program is coming to a close, there is still plenty of fun and educational activities for all ages all year long at sccld.org/.

We hope you've enjoyed coloring your world with us this summer!

*Completion prizes will be available August 1-31 while supplies last.

National Night Out is Back
Next Tuesday, August 3, is National Night Out. It’s an annual event that aims to promote positive police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and opens lines to communication about crime and quality of life issues.

Each city marks the occasion slightly differently, but most events feature food and entertainment. According to the National Night Out website, nearly 375 California cities will be participating, including many here in Santa Clara County. Visit your local city's website or community newsletter for more information about events in your area.
