New Mask Policy Starting March 2 Based on the CDC’s new metrics, effective today, the City of Falls Church will no longer require masks for the public or employees in City government facilities, including City Hall, the Community Center, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library. Masks and social distancing are welcome for anyone who chooses to do so.

German Scots-Irish in VirginiaDuring the 18th century, thousands of German and Scots-Irish families travelled south through the Valley of Virginia to southwest Virginia, the Carolinas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Daniel Thorp, associate professor of history at Virginia Tech, will talk on Wednesday, March 9, at 7 pm about the pioneers who made this trek, their experience on the road, and the communities they established.
