What Does the New CDC Eviction Moratorium Mean?
In areas of the U.S. where COVID-19 transmission rates are high, the CDC has extended the moratorium (or pause) on evictions through October 3, 2021. This includes Clark County.
However, this pause does not prevent a landlord from starting the eviction process by serving you an eviction notice. If you receive an eviction notice, and do not respond by filing paperwork with the court in a timely manner (which could be as little as five days), you could be locked out of your home.
For free assistance:
Visit LACSN.org/evictionhelp to view the necessary steps that tenants must take to seek protection from being evicted.
If you have questions, or have been locked out of your home, call Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada at 702.386.1070, then select option 1.
