Native American Heritage Month: Honoring a Rich Culture

Established in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush, Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each November to honor the customs, traditions, music, dance, and crafts of Native people in the United States. We invite you to dive into this special page to discover these voices and perspectives, and to begin a dialogue through understanding that leads to real, measurable racial and economic equality.

And for our Native American community, you will find on this page a range of free Library District services, as well as local and national resources, scholarship opportunities, and much more.

Introducing: The Writer's Room at LVCCLD.org

As part of our new partnership with the Indie Author Project, we have created The Writer’s Room, a special page on our website that provides information, resources, tools, tutorials, and a sense of community for all self-published writers, authors, poets, graphic novelists, and anyone who loves filling an empty page with their original work. Keep an eye on this space as it will continue to grow and expand. Check it out HERE.

Vegas Golden Knights:
Season Five Player Bookmarks are Here!

Your hometown hockey heroes are back at the Library District with a new round of Collectible Vegas Golden Knights bookmarks. We are kicking off with Defenseman Shea Theodore, who has been an integral player for the VGK since 2017. Your favorite Gila Monster, Chance, is also back with his blog “Chance’s Chat” HERE. He will be spotlighting each player’s favorite library items as each new bookmark is released during the 2021-2022 NHL season.

Be sure to visit your nearest library, HERE, or City National Arena to pick up each month’s FREE Collectible Player Bookmarks.

And use your FREE library card to place a hold on Shea’s favorite library items, and your favorites, too!
