Employ NV Empowers Employers for the Future

Get easy access to the public workforce development system and discover a wide range of tools, training, and funding through federal programs. The Hubs are staffed with experts who know how to help employers navigate this system and unlock resources. The Employ NV Business Hubs are located at the Sahara West Library and the Vegas Chamber.
 
 

 
No-cost Training and Job Placement Assistance

If you lost your job in 2020 or 2021, you may qualify for free training and placement services through the One-Stop Delivery System. Thanks to federal funding, there are now more resources to help get you back into the workforce. Visit a One-Stop Career Center located in our libraries, or fill out the interest form to connect with a career coach closest to you.  
 

 
High School Equivalency Testing in February
 
Schedule your exam Feb. 15, 16 or 17 to earn your Nevada Certificate of High School Equivalency through our Adult Learning Program. We also offer free educational classes to those age 16 and older looking to improve their skillsets and expand employment options.

Vegas Golden Knights Bookmarks Continue!
 
The wait is over for January’s spotlighted player, Right Wing Reilly Smith. You can pick up our Collectible Player Bookmarks for Reilly Smith, Mark Stone and Shea Theodore at any Library District branch, or at the Arsenal Pro Shop at City National Arena.
 
And be sure to visit your favorite Gila Monster’s blog, “Chance’s Chat”. Chance will be spotlighting each player’s favorite library programs as each new bookmark is released during the 2021-2022 NHL season.
 
 
 
$500,000 Contest Seeks to Improve Nevada Education
 
Submit your pitch about how to strengthen education in Nevada and you could win a share of $500,000 to fund your idea! Contest entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges including Singer-Songwriter Jewel, TV Host Mike Rowe (from Dirty Jobs & Deadliest Catch), plus business leaders, philanthropists, stewards of education, sports figures and others who are active in enriching school systems in K-12 and higher education.
 
Visit The Big Idea Challenge website for official rules and entry information. The contest is spearheaded by two Nevada-based nonprofits: The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and The Engelstad Foundation. Deadline for entries is March 31, 2022.
