Do you ever feel like there's TOO much in these newsletters? That York Public Library has TOO many awesome events and resources and you can't even stay on top of it? So do we.
Here are a couple things we've forgotten to mention in the past weeks!
1. You asked about a place to see our newest books, even if they were checked out! We now have a place on our website where you can see what we've recently added to the collection and order it if you can't find it on the shelf! Scroll down on our homepage to find the rotating display of brand new adult fiction and links to our most requested categories! |
 |
2. Starting the week of July 10, our side stairs will be undergoing a facelift. This means that they will be partially or fully inaccessable for a few weeks while our intrepid Stair Master chips away the damaged concrete and re-pours the stairs and platform. We'll of course have signage and caution tape, but consider this a heads up. We still have all other points of egress, but for entering the library, we'd recommend the front doors for the time being!
3. We are so thankful to our friends at York Ready for Climate Action for supporting our climate programming series and other sustainability initiatives at YPL. They are a tremendous community resource, not to mention ready for anything! Don't miss this weekend's Climate Action Fair, and check out the Library's display to score an exclusive YPL bookmark... printed on recycled paper, of course!
Yours until July 1, when you'll get another newsletter chock full of information! ❤ YPL ❤ |

panels, electric vehicle chargers and weatherization upgrades. The fair will include information about electric cars, with cars on site to explore.
In addition, the fair will showcase sustainability ideas, like zero waste household products, native plants and composting. Residents can come talk with companies in the field of sustainability and non-profit organizations that are involved with natural resource preservation, outdoor environmental education and ecosystem preservation.
Fun for the whole family, the event will feature activities for kids and free snacks, provided by Hannaford and Anthony’s Food Shop, as well as great door prizes — electric lawn equipment from Eldredge, and a home energy audit!
