Do you ever feel like time is collapsing in on itself, like a black hole? The rush of fall activities leading into the holidays always leaves us feeling a little pressed for time, even though we apparently gained an hour. If you find the extra time we were promised, please let us know!
We have our Holiday Book Sale, Card Making Station, and Bubbles and Bops taking place this weekend for Festival of Lights, and a concert next weekend to round out the season. We hope you'll contribute a family favorite to our recipe table upstairs. Last year the BEST recipe for thumbprint shortbread cookies showed up, and it's been a go to ever since.
December 22 is the last day to see the fantastic Robert Shetterly exhibit at YPL, and we are already preparing for our Community Collects show that takes place January-March. Do you own any paintings by the late Ogunquit artist Norman West? He's the subject of our upcoming show, and we'd love to borrow your painting for a few months if you're willing to share it. Reply to this email and let us know!
-All your friends at York Public Library
PS. Something BIG is coming. We have a FUN-draiser coming up in February that you WON'T want to miss. For families, a day of Mini Golf at YPL. For adults 21+, an after hours clubhouse night and (mini) golf tournament. More information will be available soon, but if you are interested in sponsoring, click here for more information. 🏌🏼⛳

Community Room
In this deeply personal travel guide, Margaret takes us on an extraordinary walk through well-known and not-so-well-known locations in Ireland, England, Jordan, Wales and Scotland. With vivid and compelling details, she lets these venerable lands tell their own stories via her willingness to |
|
|
be open to their messages. As you listen to her read about her experiences, you, too, may be curious about your own ancestral connections to sacred landscapes. Whether you are a seeker of unusual destinations or are on a spiritual quest, you can walk with Margaret on hallowed ground. Join her as she kneels before holy wells, touches ancient stones and travels old Roman roads. Discover the stories of saints, goddesses and witches and enter portals to experience what the ancient Celts called "the thin places."
