Dear Friends,
As you may have heard, York Public Library has been selected as one of three beneficiaries of
THE FABULOUS FIND profits for the month of September! We are honored to have been chosen along with Friends of Fort McClary and Ogunquit Public Library! The success of this fundraiser will depend on all of you, our supporters. Please consider donating gently used, higher value items to the store and shop early and often during the month of September.
Not only is the Fabulous Find a wonderful resale boutique where you'll find clothing, antiques, art, collectibles, furniture, and other household goods, but it is also a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has awarded a staggering 2.75 MILLION dollars to more than 150 local nonprofits since it first opened in 2010.

York Public Library’s fall art exhibit features the work of Brian Wagoner, known in the art world as Bunkt_. The show will be on display September 3 through October 31, with an artist reception Tuesday, September 10 from 5-7 PM.
Before becoming an artist, Wagoner struggled to truly express himself. He discovered the healing and communicative power of art at the age of 44, and became Bunkt_. “People don’t see me and my art on the same plane. I don’t use my voice. My art expresses weirdness and individuality that was stuck previously in my head. What you see is exactly what I want to put out there. I’m not interested in viewing or making art that doesn’t have something important to say. No one could have taught me to do this.”
A self-taught artist, Bunkt_ expresses his thoughts and his voice with torn up canvases from previous works, cardboard, and unconventional materials, often found on the floor of his studio or in nature while walking his dog, Nellie.
While Bunkt_’s work adorns the walls in the upper level, ceramic pieces by York artist Ned Roche will be on display in the Library’s display cases in a collection called, “Folds to Things.” |

The Wyeth family of artists is known for their somber realism and subtle storytelling. Explore the style of painting and illustration established by N.C. Wyeth in the early 1900s and passed on and re-interpreted by his children, primarily Andrew Wyeth, and his grandson Jamie Wyeth. Learn more about their favorite subjects, their influences and their enduring impact in the art world. Led by art historian Jane Oneail, founder of Culturally Curious, a company that curates and delivers art appreciation programs for audiences worldwide. With a Master’s in Art History from Boston University and a Master’s in Education from Harvard University, Oneail has worked at some of New Hampshire's most esteemed cultural institutions, including as Executive Director of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and Senior Educator at the Currier Museum of Art. She has also taught at the college level for more than a decade, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University.
