Happy New Year, friends! We have just one question as 2022 kicks off: Who will be the first person to walk through our doors on Monday, January 3? Could it be YOU? Okay, that was two questions. We've been trying to think of catchy themes to draw people into the Library on Mondays and to help it stick that your Library is now open 6 days a week (!). ...Music Mondays? (Nah, we'd fight over which songs to play) ...Murder Podcast Mondays? (It would make for a rather gory start to the week...) ...Memory Café Mondays? (Getting warmer... maybe...) ...'Mommy and Me' Mondays? (Perhaps, but we'd miss all the Daddies, Grandparents, etc.!) We'll work on it. Suggestions are welcome. Time will tell exactly what our Mondays turn into. For now, embrace the extra day of library services, and forgive our startled reactions when we see you browsing. Mondays have long been a lonely day of one or two staff members doing administrative work and clearing out the Book Drop. Needless to say, we're greatly looking forward to your company! See you soon, York Public Library

Energy Goals
As part of our 2022-2023 strategic plan, York Public Library will be focusing attention on the ways our organization works in the area of energy efficiency and sustainability. One small way we're working to do this--reducing the number of date-due slips at the front desk. As long as your have your email address on file, you'll receive a notification two days before your book is due. If you don't--try it out! It's an easy way to use one less piece of paper.
