Masks Are Now Optional Beginning Monday, March 7 Like so many of you, we are listening to the new guidance from the CDC with a combination of relief and trepidation. Some around us have been done with masks for a while now, others will feel more comfortable wearing them a bit longer. We welcome vaccinated individuals to make their own choice about wearing masks in the Library. Most importantly, we ask for your patience as we enter this next phase of COVID-19. For those of you who want the details, we made our decision based on recommendations from the US and Maine CDC, examining local practices, and in particular the COVID-19 by county checker. Now that York County has moved from high risk to medium risk, and given guidance provided to institutions, schools, and childcare centers, we will remain mask-optional unless we go back into the high risk category. We offer the following accommodations for those uncomfortable with this change: - Home delivery service for those who are homebound or have medical concerns
- Call ahead to arrange for curbside pickup
Individuals may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to COVID-19 should wear a mask. Please stay home if you are sick.
