Welcome to February, friends! While we hoped we'd be back to in-person events by now, we're going to wait a bit longer to resume in-person programs in the Library. Don't fear, we've still got plenty for you to do! Our virtual climate series kicks off this month, which explores various impacts of and questions about climate change today. Our weekly virtual meditations are moving to Thursdays at noon—find the new link and meet our new presenter below. Check our Facebook and Instagram accounts for our Black History Month book picks. Plus, we have several different styles of "take and make" crafts for kids and teens, check out the cool projects below! Lots of Love, York Public Library P.S. An update about Mondays: they've been a huge success. It's crazy to think it's only been a month, they feel so natural. We've had great suggestions for ways to make them special, and we look forward to trying those out over the months to come.

Book to Movie Book Club Monday, February 28 @ 1:00 PM Join Devin to discuss The Virgin Suicides by Jeffery Eugenides, available though interlibrary loan or on our digital platform Hoopla. First published in 1993, The Virgin Suicides announced the arrival of a major new American novelist. In a quiet suburb of Detroit, the five Lisbon sisters--beautiful, eccentric, and obsessively watched by the neighborhood boys--commit suicide one by one over the course of a single year. As the boys observe them from afar, transfixed, they piece together the mystery of the family's fatal melancholy, in this hypnotic and unforgettable novel of adolescent love, disquiet, and death. Jeffrey Eugenides evokes the emotions of youth with haunting sensitivity and dark humor and creates a coming-of-age story unlike any of our time.
