April at the Library

Join us for an evening of fascinating history!
Author and speaker Sig Unander Jr. tells the fascinating story of this distinctive organization with rare period photographs and profiles of individual WASPs, including Portland’s remarkable Hazel Ying Lee, first Chinese-American woman pilot, who died completing a dangerous fighter plane ferry mission. Lee was one 38 WASPs who lost their lives while serving our country in World War II.

The Rural Ramblers Walking Group is nearly one year into the two year study period.  The group formed from the Change Club, Step it Up partnership with OHSU and has been walking on Friday mornings since May.  You may have seen them in their bright blue t-shirts or snazzy rain gear (see below).
As part of the study, the group is also undertaking a civic improvement project of installing a parcourse at Greenville City Park.  Fundraising is currently underway for this project.  Contact Susan Cackler at the library for details on how you can contribute to this exciting project.
