Dighton Public Library
August 2024
August is here and the Library is pleased to offer a full slate of programs for attendees of all ages. Our Read to Bead summer reading program continues along with our summer children's programs at 1:00 every Monday throughout August. This month will feature soap making, tye-dye teddy bears, and National Aviator Day, where children can celebrate with paper airplane contests. Our weekly summer bird walks will run through August 20th, and we are also excited to once again partner with the Dighton Fire Department and offer another Storytime with a Firefighter on August 15th at 1:00. The Library will also be showing Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire on August 3rd at 8:00 in the field behind Town Hall. Other Saturday programs include Ed the Wizard's Reading is Magic on Saturday August 10th at 2:00 at the Lion's Pavilion, and a free collectibles appraisal provided by Rick Keller of Perfect Pastime 617 at Old Town Hall on Saturday August 17th from 10:00 to 1:00. Call the Library at (508) 669-6421 to reserve your free 10 minute time slot with Rick. Our second annual golf tournament is also fast approaching, so don't forget to register if you want to participate.

Congressman Jake Auchincloss was recently a guest reader during one of our July storytime programs. After reading a few stories, the Congressman got a behind the scenes tour of the the new Library at 207 Main Street currently slated to open in 2025.
