Family Fall StorytimeWednesdays, November 3, 10, and 17, 3:30-4pmA love of reading is one of the most important gifts you can give your child. Early literacy skills help prepare children for school success. Join Mrs. Brown on Wednesdays for stories, songs, and fun in the Balfour Riverwalk Park at the "library end." There's no need to register; just come on over and join us! (When the weather doesn't cooperate, visit the APL Facebook page and watch as she reads some great picture books and sings your favorite storytime songs.)

Elijah T Grasshopper and Friends: An Interactive Musical Event!Saturday, November 6, 2:30-3:30pm Bring your blanket or chairs and join us at the Balfour Riverwalk Park for Elijah T. Grasshopper and Friends Willa the Worm and Weatherbee Frog! They'll bring their harvest-themed kid's show to the area with special guest, the Orange Farmer and her interactive dance song, "Somethin' Bout a Pumpkin." Neighbors in Dialogue: Community ConversationsWednesday, November 17, 6-8pmThe Neighbors in Dialogue discussion returns! Our first topic is voting access and challenges. Our format of small-group discussion led by trained facilitators ensures that all voices are heard. To prepare for the evening's discussion, please watch this short video (9 minutes) from ABC News. Our Spanish-language collection has moved!Patrons looking for materials in Spanish will now find them on the first floor of the library, where our DVDs and Blu-rays used to be! The collection contains titles in fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, magazines, and DVDs. The new space is easier to access, and will allow the collection to grow. We plan to add new, exciting titles to the collection in the coming months!

Election Day is November 2!November 2 is an important day in Attleboro, when we can use our voice to select our choices for Mayor, city council, school committee, and other individual offices. Voting hours are 7:00AM - 8:00PM. Here is a list of polling locations. We encourage you to get out and vote!

Luncheon events in November at the COA!The Council on Aging will be offering a few food-based events this month: a Welcoming Wednesday luncheon made by Center staff on Wednesday, November 3; and a Thanksgiving Luncheon on Thursday, November 18. New parking fees in the "library lot" The North Main Street Municipal parking lot, adjacent to the library, had its hourly fee increased recently by the City--from $.40 to $.75 per hour. Please be sure to pay the meter and place the slip you receive from the meter on your dashboard very prominently in order to avoid a potential ticket!

Stop & Shop benefits the Friends!The Friends of the Attleboro Public Library will benefit in November from Stop & Shop's Community Bag program. Throughout the month, a $1.00 donation will be given for every $2.50 reusable bag purchased at the 206 East Washington Street, North Attleboro, store location. APL will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11, and Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25. APL will close at 2:30pm on Wednesday, November 24.
