Warner Blvd., Taunton MA. The Norton Public Library will receive a $1 donation for every Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet with the red circle sticker purchased at this Hannaford location in October 2022.

Upcycled Sweater Pumpkin Craft Tuesday, October 4, 6:00pm Community Room Local artist Hayley Perry of Loop by Loop Studio will lead us in making Upcycled Sweater Pumpkins. These decorative pumpkins aren't just adorable, they help keep textiles out of landfills! The Autumn Sweater Pumpkins are made from recycled sweaters, yarn, polyfill, beans, and felt. This project is fun, easy, and cost effective--and just might inspire you to use minimal, recycled materials to create imaginative home decor. New England Forests with Deborah Cato Wednesday, October 12, 1:00pm Community Room
Join us for the annual Dr. Grace Baron Memorial Lecture! Wheaton College Biology Instructor Deborah Cato will talk about the beauty and diversity of our New England forests and the ecosystem services they provide--services that are so important for human health and well being. The impact of the Native Americans on the landscape, the current and future challenges our forests face, and what we can do to help preserve these ecosystems will be addressed. This program is presented by the Norton Institute for Continuing Education (NICE). NICE is a collaborative effort of Wheaton College and Norton Community partners to provide non-credit college-level courses and other educational opportunities in an informal and relaxed environment.

Caregivers will receive information to help extend the learning at home. This storytime series is geared towards infants and toddlers. Space is limited. Registration required. This program is geared toward babies from birth through early walking age (approx. 0-18 months). Walking toddlers will have more fun at "Storytime in the Park" and "Library Playdate" on Wednesdays. Time Travelers: The History of Voting Tuesday, October 11, 4:00pm Community Room In this program we will be discussing the history of voting rights in the United States. We will learn about why voting is so important to our democracy, who had the right to vote and who didn't, and when those rights began for those who didn't have them. Junior Friends of the Library Meeting Monday, October 24, 5:30pm Community Room Teens and tweens! Would you like to volunteer your time and earn community service hours? Join the Junior Friends of the Library! At this session we will give a brief welcome, care for the Discovery Den, discuss community events, and more.
Junior Friends is a group designed to let youth ages 10-18 take an active role in library programming, promotion, fundraising, and decision-making. We meet monthly from September through June (generally last Monday of the month from 5:30-7:00), with additional sessions when we're working on projects (irregular times, TBD). Members will have opportunities to help improve the library by decorating the Children’s Room, contributing to book, music, movie, and video game selection, maintaining the Discovery Den, keeping the children’s and young adult book collections tidy, planning fundraising events, and more. If you join Junior Friends, we will track your volunteer hours so you can submit them for school, scouting, etc. Come meet new people, enjoy the library, and make a difference in your community.
