VIRTUAL Navigating College Admissions Successfully in 2023 Wed., Jan 25th, 7:00PM
This Zoom presentation is to help families understand how the lingering effects from the pandemic have changed the college admissions landscape and how it affects Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen. The recent college admissions cycle was the most competitive to date. With most colleges continuing their test-optional policies as well as increasing their virtual outreach to high school students, many schools had record numbers of applicants. Record high numbers of applications result in record low acceptance rates which is what most popular colleges and universities experienced this past admissions cycle. The presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper, partners at Stand Out For College, LLC. (www.standoutforcollege.com) Register below in advance for this meeting

Massachusetts State Parks pass! This DCR (Department of Conservation & Recreation) pass is very popular in the summer, when you can use it for parking at places like the Scusset Beach State Reservation and the Horseneck Beach State Reservation, but did you know that you can borrow this pass all year long?! So get outside in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful winter scenery! This pass provides visitors unlimited day-use parking access to MA state park facilities within the DCR that charge a parking fee, with the exception of Quabbin Reservoir; and the Squantum Point, NorthPoint, or Draw Seven Commuter lots. This pass also doesn’t cover camping fees. For a complete list of DCR parks and information about them, visit their website. A majority of the state parks actually offer free parking from now until the spring, although Borderland State Park in Easton does not, so if you want to visit this nearby park, then borrow the pass...! After you have reserved this pass on our website, you must come in to the library with your library card to pick up the pass. You can pick it up one day prior to your reservation date. You should return the pass by 10am the next day, by placing it in the plastic case it came in, and putting the case in our Media Drop Box outside. You may reserve this library pass 2 times in a 30-day period. Please review our rules for borrowing library passes here. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call: 508-261-7380.
