Johnny Cash - Songs & Stories w/ Matt York Thurs., June 29th 6:30PM As part of the Mansfield Public Library's Find Your Voice Summer Library Program, we welcome longtime New England musician/author Matt York, who will perform the songs of Johnny Cash and tell stories about Cash's career spanning from the 1950's to his passing in 2003. He'll discuss Cash's emergence as a groundbreaking artist in the 1950's, his marriage to June Carter and many of his other career highlights. York was recently nominated for the Boston Music Award for Best Country Artist and his album Gently Used was just named one of Worcester Magazine's best albums of 2022. Spice Club: Lavender Wed., June 21st
Lovely cooking fun with lavender! Do you love to cook and want to try new flavors and recipes? Or maybe you’re tired of cooking the same old thing and want to try something new? Then we have got just the club for you!!! Time to get spicy and join the Mansfield Public Library’s Spice Club! Every month, a new spice and recipes will be featured each month. We will provide a Spice Pack which will include: - Information and history of each featured spice.
Two new recipes from A to Z World Food database (A Mansfield Public Library card is required to access this database). Pre-measured featured spice for the two recipes that month
Once registered, come to the library on Wednesday, June 21st, to pick up the kit.
Be sure to register individually if you have more than one person to sign up. The spice club is open to ages 13 and up.

Drop-in Program Saturday, June 17, 10:30-11:30 AM Children in grades K-6 are invited to practice their reading skills with a patient, supportive (and adorable!) listener: a certified therapy dog! Children can choose a book from the library or bring one from home, and will have 5-10 minutes to read to either Cindy the Corgi or Hadley the Newfoundland. There is no registration required, but children will be asked to check in upon arrival and wait for their turn to read (and stay for an additional turn if time allows)! Friends of the Library Book Sale The Friends of the Library happily accept donations of books in excellent condition, to add to their year-round Book Sale inside the Library.
To make a donation, please call to make an appointment 508-261-7380. Please do not leave donations outside the library or in the book drop. The Friends offer a variety of books for all ages. Most items cost $1! The Friends do not accept: - Books that have been stored in an attic or basement
- Books that have mildew or mold
- Books with missing, yellowed or written in pages
- Books without the dust jacket
- Textbooks
