Events About Higher Education

It’s back to school season and for all incoming high schoolers, it’s time to start thinking about college! Attend these upcoming events with local experts for insider tips on how to apply and afford this next chapter. Both these events are free and open to the public. Students and parents are encouraged to attend. No registration required.

Starting the college search process can be overwhelming with so many schools out there, but you can learn to whittle your options down to a more manageable scale. Join us on Monday, September 11, from 6 – 7 PM, to get practical advice for compiling your own list of potential schools to consider. BSU Associate Dean of Admission, Todd Audyatis, will walk you through the Goldilocks College Search Criteria.

Learn about different methods of financial aid including the awarding of grants, loans, and student work programs. Join us on Monday, September 18, from 6 – 7 PM, to get practical advice from Laura Biechler, BSU Assistant Vice President of Student Financial Assistance & Enrollment Management.


Community Event


International Dot Day

Saturday, September 9 | 10AM to 4PM | MFA

The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) will be celebrating International Dot Day and the 20th anniversary of the children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. There will be art-making, a StoryWalk, author readings, and book signings. All activities are free with general admission. If it's not raining the art activity and StoryWalk will be outside and free to all.

The Bridgewater Public Library offers reduced admission to the MFA. Passes are limited to one per day but patrons are welcome to reserve passes from other SAILS libraries.

Anime Club

Wednesday, September 6 at 4:00PM

Socialize with friends, enjoy snacks and watch the latest streamed anime with our premium Crunchyroll subscription. Check out the newest manga and graphic novel additions before they hit the shelves!

Come in and have some fun with Big Ryan! Big Ryan's toddler program focuses on Puppet Play and Music and Movement. Due to the unpredictability and short attention spans of very young children these programs usually run about 25 to 30 minutes. No registration required.


This program is supported in part by a grant from the Bridgewater Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
