Help Us Make A Difference This Year! | This year, the need is greater than ever—twice as many families in our community are struggling to put food on the table.
With your support, we can bring comfort and warmth to those facing tough times. Please join us by donating non-perishable food items to help us reach even more families in need.
Together, we can make sure no one goes hungry this holiday season.
Give generously. Every donation counts. |

Now Through November 30 |
Thanks to the generous support of The Herblock Foundation, this new exhibit features artistic reproductions of legendary Washington Post editorial cartoonist, Herbert Block. This exhibit features works that focus on the theme of democracy. Herblock used his talents to present important questions and challenges that words alone cannot:
We must vote, meet our civic responsibilities, pay taxes and expect the best of our elected government officials to work on behalf of all the people. The clarity of his message and artistic style were perfectly fused, providing transparency, a humorous and telling look at our leaders, ourselves and the world.
Stop by the library this November and sign our guest book! |

The TaleSpinners encourage all sorts of writing: memoir, poetry, short stories, and/or novels. The TaleSpinners write in all genres: mystery, thrillers, science fiction, romance, humor. We engage in gentle, helpful, and encouraging critiques of one another’s writing, and everyone gets a chance to share their work.

The Prison Book Program's exhibition Art From Inside will remain on display in the Flora T. Little Gallery through the month of November.
| About the Program |
Prison Book Program has been supporting the freedom to read for incarcerated men and women since 1972. Most book requests come in the form of a handwritten letter, and PBP responds with a package of books which have been selected to match each requestor's specific needs and interests. |
About the Exhibit |
Art from Inside is a curated selection of works that incarcerated men and women have sent to Prison Book Program over the course of its 50+ year history. Most pieces have been sent as a token of gratitude for a shipment of free books. Many but not all pieces in the show are book-themed, depicting reading as liberating. |
About the Talk |
This program will host a talk Wednesday, November 13th at 6:30PM. Prison Book Program Executive Director Kelly Brotzman will give an overview of the current U.S. prison system and discuss the factors that led to mass incarceration.
She will also shed light on access to education and books in the carceral state. Brotzman joins us for this talk while both library art galleries are displaying Art From Inside, a showcase of artwork from prison inmates who have participated in the Prison Book Program. | Social Media |
