Given by our July

Flora T. Little Local Artist

Tuesday, July 2 at 6:00PM | Drop-In Event

Join artist and author, Pamela Lowell, as she shares her experiences and new book, My Summer with Ospreys: A Therapist’s Journey Toward Hope, Community, and Healing Our Planet.

Suitable for adults and families with children (over 9 years old).

No Registration Required!

About the Artist

As a licensed clinical social worker, Pamela has spent the past forty years healing psychological trauma, working as a clinician, consultant, and trainer. Outside clinical work, birding and being in nature has always provided her with great solace. In 2022 she began painting large watercolors of Ospreys and donated the proceeds to local nature organizations. In 2023, she jumped at the chance to accompany Mass Audubon in their weekly Osprey nest monitoring project on the Westport River.

About the Presentation & Exhibition

Her presentation will include photographs and video of nest monitoring, a banding demonstration, a description of the translocation process (supplying a dozen chicks to new homes in Illinois), followed by a short discussion about the importance of working together to help heal our planet. This program is suitable for nature enthusiasts, budding birders, artists, and environmentalists!

This exhibit features watercolors depicting Ospreys and their nests, as well as photographs of the project. Her work will be on display in our Flora T. Little Gallery for the month of July.
