Fossil Discoveries with Easton Children's Museum

Saturday, June 17 at 10:00AM | Registration Required 

Identify, compare, and explore with Easton Children's Museum. As junior paleontologists, children will excavate fossils and engage in discussions about various extinction theories while learning fun facts about these creatures that once roamed the Earth. Each child will take home their excavated fossil.

There are still a few spots left.


This program is for ages 5+ and registration is required. Please register each child separately.

🌞 Summer Reading 🌞

Kicks off June 26th

 Track your reading minutes using Beanstack for a chance to win wicked cool prizes!

Details:

  • This program is open to all ages with two age brackets: 0-12 and 13+ 

  • Track your reading by using Beanstack to log your reading minutes to earn badges & the chance to win prizes. Parents can read to their kids and log for them.  

  • Any type of reading counts: audiobooks, graphic novels, magazines, etc.

  • For kids who read 2 hours in a week, there will be a weekly drawing where they can win a bag of books.

  • There will also be a word of the week hidden in the children's room each week, so additional tickets can be earned by participating and entering the keyword in Beanstack.

  • Winners of the ticketed drawings will be notified by email on Tuesday, August 15.  Prize winners will have 10 business days to pick up the prize before another winner is chosen.

Search the Children's Room starting June 8th through June 22

Visit the children’s room and look for the sun! It might be hiding up high or it might be peeking out over a horizon of books, so keep your eyes peeled. If you find the sun, you can fill out a raffle for a chance to win a bag of books!

African Dance Workshop

Join Chefiatou Tokou from the Simdaca African Dance Academy for an African Dance Workshop.

Chefiatou Tokou, a Massachusetts-based dancer and choreographer, is originally from Togo in West Africa. A life-long dancer, Chéfi began her professional career over a decade ago, focusing on teaching Contemporary, Cultural and Urban African dance. Although she teaches dance moves from across the continent, she is mostly specialized in West and Central African dance steps. She uses the historical significance of the dance moves as a means to teach about the country or region the steps originated from, as well as how to identify the style of song they’re set to. Chéfi is known for motivating her students to dream big and fully realize their life’s purpose. She is the founder of the Simdaca African Dance Academy. 

Mini Woven Basket Craft (18+)

Thursday, June 29 at 11:00AM | Registration Required

Come create a mini woven basket with our front desk librarian, Vanessa! These baskets are easy to make and require no prior experience. They're made from paper cups, yarn, and hot glue. Vanessa will guide the class step-by-step. All materials will be provided. All participants will leave with at least one basket. Additional baskets can be made if there is time at the end of the class.

Dress a Girl Around the World

Are you and your friends or family looking to do some volunteer work? On Wednesday, June 14 at 6 PM, the Bridgewater Public Library is hosting a Dress A Girl Around the World dress kit workshop. Dress A Girl Around the World provides hand-sewn dresses to young girls in need in the US and around the world. At this workshop, we will be creating dress kits for future sewing workshops. This involves measuring and matching fabric to trims and accessories and then bagging them. (No sewing involved). All materials will be provided. This will be a fun, but meaningful activity for the entire family. Please join us!

TaleSpinners Writing Group

TaleSpinners have existed for nearly twenty years and is open to new members! This adult writing group meets every Thursday from 1-3 PM.

The TaleSpinners encourages all kids of writing: memoir, poetry, short stories, & novels. They also encourage all genres: mystery, thrillers, science fiction, romance, & humor. We engage in gentle and helpful critiques of one another’s writing. Every writer will get a chance to share their work. We ask each writer to come with copies of their work to share with the rest of the group. No registration required.
