Join us for a heartwarming story time event featuring Hello at the Farm with author Sherry Fry!

Enjoy a lively reading with the author, followed by a kid-friendly discussion about the importance of inclusion and a joyful sing-along session that complements the story. After the reading and discussion, children will have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on activity related to the book.

Additionally, we understand that some children may become overstimulated during the event. That's why we've designated a quiet space where kids can go to take a break if needed.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Bridgewater Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Open to all ages! No registration required!

Event Date: Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00 PM

Summer Archival Exhibit

Find This Display on the Library's Lower Level

You may know Flora Townsend Little as the Bridgewater Public Library benefactor, but this lifelong Bridgewater resident was also an avid traveler. She and her husband, Walter, encountered people, places, and historic events on their many trips around the world.

In this archival exhibit, global treasures are on display: Mexican textiles, Chinese ivory figurines, wooden sculptures from Bali, and a Tibetan amulet box are just a few of the items that Flora and Walter Little collected on their travels. In addition to their mementos, visitors can also see recently-digitized films that Ms. Little took during their travels.

While touring the exhibit, ask yourself: Why is travel so popular, both then and now? Why do we dream of foreign lands? What do we hope to find there? And why is it such a relief to come home?

Around the World by Sea and Land will be on view in the library exhibit space until mid-August.
