We are thrilled to introduce the new Director of Pembroke Public Library: Marcie Walsh-O'Connor! Marcie comes to us from the Whitman Public Library, where she had been since 2015, first serving as Assistant Director and then as Library Director. Marcie started her library career as a page in Rockland then worked in Cohasset and in Boston at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She graduated from Simmons in 2009 with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science. She loves working in libraries because they have become a community gathering space; her favorite part about being the Director is empowering her staff. Marcie lives with her wife Erin, her 11-year-old daughter Ellie (who she says is way cooler than her), four cats, and a dog. Her hobbies include reading (of course!) and playing Dungeons & Dragons. Her favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and her favorite TV show is Modern Family.
