Pembroke Public Library Book Club Tuesday, January 3rd from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For our January meeting the PPL Book Club is reading The Maid by Nita Prose, a cozy whodunit with a one-of-a-kind heroine. Yoga Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Led by Barbara Ward and other instructors from the YogaConnection of Plymouth. Open to all levels. A single-class drop-in is $12 and a four-class registration is $45 ($35 for Friends members). Friends members can also purchase an eight-class punch ticket for $80, which is valid for three months.

January Poetry Webinar Series Wednesdays January 11th, 18th, & 25th from 3:30-5 p.m. Join popular presenter Roz Kubek for a fun and interesting look at important poetry movements of the last century. This three-session webinar will introduce participants to the historical and social context for three poetry movements as we read and discuss a number of poets from Ezra Pound to Bob Dylan. - Session 1: The “Wordle” of Poetry (Ezra Pound, William Carlos Williams, and Imagist Poetry)

Building Your Healthy Life Beyond the New Year Saturday, January 28th from 1-4 p.m. Many people begin restrictive one-size-fits-all diets at the beginning of the new year, only to come off of them in a month or two. In this workshop, you will learn how to ditch the diet and create a lifestyle that is personalized to support your own unique physical and emotional health. Specific skills you will learn include: switching from a mentality of "deprivation" to "abundance" when making food and other health choices; harnessing your motivation for change beyond the number on the scale; expanding your definition of health and learning to approach wellness holistically; and using mindfulness to facilitate behavior change. Genealogy Night Tuesday, January 31st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Are you interested in finding out more about your genealogy? Do you have a cool story about one of your ancestors you want to share? Join in our monthly Genealogy Night to chat with other family history buffs! All are welcome to attend, from experienced researchers who would like to share tips or stories about great finds, to beginners who want to learn more about the research process and online resources. Library laptops will be available to explore Ancestry Library Edition.

January Teen Take & Make: Cats in Sweaters Available beginning January 4th while supplies last We know teens are busy with school, work, chores, and more so we're giving you an opportunity to craft on your own time. Pick up a Craft Kit in the YA Lounge and create a cozy cat in a sweater.

Storytime Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Toddlers (ages 2-5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, games, and stories that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft.

Baby Lapsit Thursdays January 5th, 19th, & 26th from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child while learning new rhymes and stories to share. Each program includes stretches, music, a story, and more followed by an open play time.

STEM Playgroup Mondays January 9th, 23rd, & 30th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. STEM Playgroup sessions feature Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math-based play for preschoolers ages 3-5. LEGO Club Tuesday, January 10th from 4-5 p.m. Kids ages 5+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring your neighbors, big siblings, and school friends! LEGO Club is designed to give kids a safe, creative environment in which they can freely build with LEGOs, interact with peers, and express themselves.

Little Music Makers Thursday, January 12th from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Enhance your little one’s love of music during this 30-minute bonding time, with songs, dance, and movement games to excite one’s budding musician. Babies and toddlers ages 0-2 with a caregiver are welcome to drop in and join us!

Anime Club Thursday, January 12th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Ages 11-15 are invited to watch anime, snack, and socialize. This month, watch Pokémon: The First Movie (rated G, 1 hour and 36 minutes) and craft a Pokémon terrarium. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

Puppy Dog Tales Thursday, January 19th from 4:15-5:00 p.m. Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. Our dogs and trainers provide a supportive environment to practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in event.

Cam-Mac Adventure Express: An Author Storytime Visit Wednesday, January 25th from 4-5 p.m. Ages 5-9 can join local author Stephanie Brazer in a special storytime reading of her picture book The Cam-Mac Adventure Express followed by a craft! Cam sets sail from Boston Harbor and finds himself on a royal adventure where imagination will help his passengers conquer their fears.
