The Pembroke Community Group Pajama Drive has begun! We will be collecting new pajamas with the tags still on. All sizes are needed, and slippers and robes are also welcome. Please leave all donations unwrapped or in holiday bags. Drop off at the library by December 13th! |

Pembroke Public Library Book Club Tuesday, December 6th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For our December meeting the PPL Book Club is reading The Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristin Harmel, about a young woman who uses her knowledge of the wilderness to help Jewish refugees escape the Nazis—until a secret from her past threatens everything. Yoga Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Led by Barbara Ward and other instructors from the YogaConnection of Plymouth. Open to all levels. A single-class drop-in is $12 and a four-class registration is $45 ($35 for Friends members). Friends members can also purchase an eight-class punch ticket for $80, which is valid for three months.

Pop-Up Art School: Evergreen Trees with Lights (Age 18+) Saturday, December 10th from 2:00-3:30 p.m. This is not your typical canvas painting program! Pop Up Art School will show you how to paint an evergreen tree; then, holes will be poked in the back of the canvas and fairy lights inserted. You’ll be proud to hang this festive painting in your own home, or give it away as a gift! Genealogy Night Tuesday, December 27th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Are you interested in finding out more about your genealogy? Do you have a cool story about one of your ancestors you want to share? Join in our monthly Genealogy Night to chat with other family history buffs! All are welcome to attend, from experienced researchers who would like to share tips or stories about great finds, to beginners who want to learn more about the research process and online resources. Library laptops will be available to explore Ancestry Library Edition.

December Teen Take & Make: Polar Bear Magnets Available while supplies last We know teens are busy with school, work, chores, and more so we're giving you an opportunity to craft on your own time. Pick up a Craft Kit in the YA Lounge and create a silly polar bear magnet.

Baby Lapsit Thursdays December 1st, 8th, and 15th from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child while learning new rhymes and stories to share. Each program includes stretches, music, a story, and more followed by an open play time.

Storytime Mondays and Tuesdays December 5th and 6th & 12th and 13th at 10:30 a.m. Toddlers (ages 2-5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, games, and stories that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft.

Celebrations of Light Story Hour Wednesday, December 7th from 4-5 p.m. Renowned storyteller and musician John Porcino will spin a patchwork quilt of his most beloved tales and songs to celebrate the holiday season and warm up the chilly winter's day. Together we'll enter a world where woolen mittens burst into laughter and snow banks melt to reveal a blooming heart. Joyful, warm, playful stories and songs will celebrate the season's hidden light. Registration is not required. All ages are welcome. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Pembroke Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Little Music Makers Thursday, December 8th from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Enhance your little one’s love of music during this 30-minute bonding time, with songs, dance, and movement games to excite one’s budding musician. Babies and toddlers ages 0-2 with a caregiver are welcome to drop in and join us!

Anime Club Thursday, December 8th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Ages 11-15 are invited to watch episodes from season 1 of Naruto Shippuden, snack, socialize, and create a themed craft. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.

LEGO Club Tuesday, December 13th from 4-5 p.m. Kids ages 5+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring your neighbors, big siblings, and school friends! LEGO Club is designed to give kids a safe, creative environment in which they can freely build with LEGOs, interact with peers, and express themselves.

Candy Cane Maze (ages 8-12) Wednesday, December 14th from 4-5 p.m. Ages 8-12 are challenged to create a complex and delicious candy cane maze. Will you be able to find your way out again? Puppy Dog Tales Thursday, December 15th from 4:15-5:00 p.m. Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. Our dogs and trainers provide a supportive environment to practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in event.

Playtime Monday, December 19th & Tuesday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m. Sharing in play is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning, and discover that the library is a destination for fun. Children will have the opportunity to practice teamwork, strengthen motor skills, and expand their imaginations while playing with blocks, puzzles, and more. Meet new friends, bond with your little one, and explore the many resources your library has to offer! **Playtime will take place in lieu of storytime. This is a drop in event.**
