The Pembroke Community Group Pajama Drive has begun! We will be collecting new pajamas with the tags still on. All sizes are needed, and slippers and robes are also welcome. Please leave all donations unwrapped or in holiday bags. Drop off at the library by December 13th!

The holidays are drawing near, and Martha’s Bike Shop (of Plymouth, Mass.) has generously donated a bike for the library to raffle off. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the library with cash or check (payable to Pembroke Public Library). All proceeds will go to our Children’s Room. The lucky ticket will be drawn on Friday, December 17th at 4:45 p.m. If the bike is not quite right for you, Martha’s Bike Shop has kindly offered to exchange it for the perfect fit!

Yoga Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Led by Barbara Ward and other instructors from the YogaConnection of Plymouth. Open to all levels. A single-class drop-in is $12 and a four-class registration is $45 ($35 for Friends members). Friends members can also purchase an eight-class punch ticket for $80, which is valid for three months.

Pembroke Public Library Book Club Tuesday, December 7th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For our December meeting the PPL Book Club is reading The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis, a historical novel in which a series of book thefts roils the iconic New York Public Library, leaving two generations of strong-willed women to pick up the pieces. Jam Night at the Library Wednesday, December 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Two musicians (guitar and mandolin) of "moderate" skill level want to create a space for like-minded musicians to share and play music together. All acoustic string instruments are welcome and others can be considered. Music will be from the 1950s right up to today. Genres include folk, folk/rock, pop, indie, singer songwriter, and others. Please bring some songs you like to play with sheet music so others can join in. Everyone will have a chance to play a few songs. So that we can get an idea of numbers, please pre-register by calling Ken at 781-733-2449 or email krp211@gmail.com.

Storytime Mondays & Tuesdays through December 14th at 10:30 a.m. Toddlers (ages 2 - 5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, games, and stories that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft and play time.

Puppy Dog Tales Thursday, December 9th from 4:15-5:00 p.m. Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. This program provides a supportive environment to practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in event.

Homemade Holiday Cards Tuesday, December 14th from 4-5 p.m. Join us for this drop-in youth event (all ages) and create festive cards for family and friends. Supplies and tutorials for basic designs will be provided. No registration required.

Gingerbread House Craft Thursday, December 16th from 4-5 p.m. Teens (ages 12 - 18) can join us in turning terra cotta pots into miniature gingerbread houses! STEM Playgroup (ages 3-5) Monday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m. STEM Playgroup sessions feature Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math-based play for preschoolers ages 3 - 5. The Playgroup will meet on Mondays December 20th, January 3rd, January 10th, January 24th, January 31st, and February 7th; registration is required.
