Destination Wedding: A Novel by Diksha Basu This is a perfect frothy cocktail of a beach read.Tina Das, a producer for a Netflix-type company, her divorced Indian parents, mother's boyfriend, and college best friend travel to Delhi, India for a lavishly over-the-top family wedding. Having grown up American, although of Indian descent, Tina spends the entire week leading up to the wedding questioning her cultural heritage. Is she a New Yorker? Is she Indian? Does she want to marry? Is she a single career woman for life? Tina is constantly questioning her life choices and each chapter brings a fun, silly, and moving reveal. Don't ignore the brief chatter that heads up each chapter. It's a little inside joke between the reader and the characters. I highly recommend this book for a light, sweet read that won't leave you with cavities.

It’s 1947. Jackie Robinson and his bodyguard, a WW2 vet named Burke, need to find out who is trying to keep him from finishing his first season with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson is the first Black player to break Major League Baseball’s color barrier and does it with grace and pride; he never loses his cool. If you liked “Green Book,” this noir mystery is right up your alley. It was a very satisfying read, tied up in Parker’s typical un-effusive way. So few words but nothing is left out. This interesting urban fantasy novel features a variety of paranormal beings, including angels, fae, werewolves, and more. While the setting is complex, with a culture and politics that the reader might not immediately understand, the main characters are compelling and carry the story. The mystery at the center of the plot, as well as the developing relationship between the two main characters, make this an excellent read for fantasy fans.
