The leaves aren't the only thing changing this fall!
The library will be closed for renovations from October 10-22.
During that time, we will offer curbside pickup for books and other materials. Library staff will be available to answer questions by phone or email, print files sent to us by email, as well as make photocopies, fax, and scan for walk-up visitors.
Adjusted curbside service library hours during renovation will be: Monday-Friday 9am-6pm Saturday 8am-12pm
Place books, movies, CDs, and more on hold for pickup in your library account, on our app, or by calling 724-287-1715.
During this renovation, flooring will be replaced in the library entrance, computer lab, children’s department, and basement meeting room. We will also add an automated opener to the second floor computer lab entrance doors.
The door automation project and flooring replacement in the children’s department, computer lab, and basement are supported by matching funds through the 2021 Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program.
There are still plenty of events happening in October - check out the full list below! |

It’s here! Our big Fall two-day book sale, held in the downstairs meeting room. The dates are Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st. Start times both days are 9 am to 3 pm. Saturday will be $5 to fill a bag and you are welcome to bring in your own canvas bags both days. We’ll have bags for you if you forget.
Please note we can only take cash or checks with local ID. We cannot take credit cards as we don’t have the technology. And please, save your donations until after the sale so we can have fresh product. We are featuring a Clearance table at this sale. All Religion, Health and oversized books are 25c. And remember. Christmas is coming and this sale is a great way to shop for your favorite reader.
The bookstore is open Mondays from 11 am to 3 pm and Thursdays from 2 to 5 pm. As you know, the library is closing on October 8th for a bit of a face lift so of course the bookstore is closed. But, when the library reopens, we are offering an extra day of bookstore shopping, Wednesday, October 26th from 12-2:30 pm. We’re working out the bugs for opening the store on Wednesdays so stay tuned for updates.
Finally, this being October, the month of spookery, two of us Library Friends recommend a book that scared the bejeebers out of us. Titled Gallows Hill, by Darcy Coates, it’s about a winery built on haunted ground. Please remember we all have different opinions on book topics, so do a little research on this book before deeming it appropriate for you or your child.
