The library will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of the 4th of July.

Adopt a Pet Shell

Stop in and pick our your very own pet shell to adopt. Be sure to pick up a brochure that includes tips on care and feeding, and your adoption certificate!

In addition to weekly summer challenge programs, we are excited to introduce The Wave, your very own YA Zone CafĂ©!
You can stop by for Luau Week for a Tropical Fruit Kebab, or visit during Sand and Surf to pick up a Hang-o Ten-go Mango Tango!

While you enjoy your cafe drink or confection, you can join in the weekly activity, set up in the game room, get crafty with make-and-takes, squeeze in some reading time, or take it on the go...The choice is yours!

Sharkbite Cinemas - YA Movie Days

Tweens and teens can stop by every week of Summer Reading to watch a movie at our YA Zone Theater, Sharkbite Cinemas!
Snacks will change each week, so be sure to stop by so you don't miss them!

YA Water Relay Race
July 5, 1-3pm

Help your team get all the water in a bucket from start to finish by filling up a sponge and passing it down the line! There will also be materials available to create your own resistance spray paint masterpiece using white crayons and spray bottles loaded with watercolors!

YA Create-A-Creature

At our Create-A-Creature lab, you'll receive prompts about a new sea monster's traits and habitat...The rest is up to you!
Design the perfect ocean animal, and bring it to life as a plushie! We'll also have materials to make squid ink slime to take home with your new plushie friend!

YA Mini Golf @ the BAPL

We're creating a pop-up mini golf course right here at the library! Choose your putter, grab a ball, and try to stay under par! We'll also have materials available to create your own beach bag or flip flops using duct tape!

YA Shipwreck Survival
June 28, 1-3pm

At our shipwreck survival stations, you'll make a real water filter using rocks and sand, create container-less water pods with algae, build a working raft, and more! We'll also have materials to create your own ocean sensory jar or wooden nautical sign!

No Shelf Control Book Club

Genealogy Saturdays

We know you can't always make it on a Monday-Friday to get personalized help with your brick walls! The genealogy department is always open, but one Saturday each month, Genealogy Department staff will also have "weekend office hours" - drop in and get extra help with your research questions, or pre-reserve an appointment by contacting Margaret at mhewitt@bcfls.org.

Thank you to everyone who made our big June book sale a success! We had plenty of happy customers. And a hearty welcome to all the new Library Friends who signed up and helped with the sale, setting up, working it and then taking it down. We old-timers appreciate you newbies!  
 
We are never out of books, and right now, we have TONS of sports books. NASCAR, golf, baseball, football and even hunting. We are extending our 25c sale for all sports books through July. We are also including all the Large Print books, which will also be 25c a book for the entire month of July. 
 
We can only take cash or a local check with proper ID. We do not have Credit Card technology. 
 
Mark your calendars for the next big two-day book sale, which will be Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st. Hours are 9 am to 3 pm both days and of course, Saturday is $5 a bag. Feel free to bring your own canvas bags! Remember, Christmas is not so far away, and we have a lot of LIKE NEW books, DVDs and CDs which make perfect gifts.
