Believe In Your Shelf
If you were to ask people “What is a library?”, most people talk first about a building full of books. I know this, because I asked several people and all their answers involved the books. This is a good description because it is accurate. Last I checked, we've got quite a few.

However, this is not the complete picture. Most people mention something bigger, but struggle to articulate that idea. Sometimes there is hand-waving involved. They might mention available computers and printing, movies, games, & equipment freely available for checkout, or helping kids improve their reading abilities. They might mention free WiFi and fun library programs, or that the library is a ‘3rd space’- a place where you can freely be that is neither home nor workplace. These are all great and accurate descriptions, because more than books, the Library is a community cultural center, a place where we learn more about the world, each other, and ourselves.

I can sum it up using our library’s tagline: Discover Life's Possibilities. Regardless of what is going on in your life, whether you want to learn a new hobby, improve your career, make some new friends, or explore something fantastic, the library is the right place to be. This is the goal of our newsletter; to better show all the great things the Library can do for you. Your life is filled with possibilities, and we want to help you discover them.
