Playing with Perspective. In this workshop we will create short stories that practice creating fiction from our experiences and look at how first person versus third person narrative changes the way your story sounds.
|
In this series we will explore how creative practices can be an ally in managing your mental health and fostering your resiliency. Each session you will learn about a different facet of resiliency or stress management and complete a visual art activity as a way to deepen your understanding of the subject. Deer Creek Tribute Trail - We will take participants to several points of interest along the beautiful Deer Creek Tribute Trail in Nevada City. The Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Tribe partnered in several instances with other local stakeholders in the creation of interpretive signage, a Native plant garden, angkula seo suspension bridge and the highly anticipated trail segment that will traverse a section of the Nisenan Cultural Reclamation Corridor. We will talk about the importance of Tribal inclusion and how these points of interest help to raise visibility.

Nisenan Territory and Virtual Map - Join us for the debut of this virtual map and learn how the project came together. What started as a two-dimensional map is now a story map that brings Nisenan names back to our local landscapes. The map also includes bits of Nisenan Culture, lifeways, and story.
