Join us for an evening with Local Author Janet Stegman. Stegman is a local singer, dancer, actress and comedian. She has been a part of the recovery community for decades. Janet will share her experiences and how she overcame addiction and personal trauma with the community. A blurb from Janet's new book: "After 35 years’ experience with 12-Step Programs and extensive study in healing modalities such as Journaling, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Inner Child Work, Janet has healed herself of addiction and is now ready to help you. Janet does not have a treat-the-symptom, Band-Aid type of approach: Her method permanently removes your addiction through finding the cause and solving the problem once and for all, and then you get your life back. Rather than constantly struggling and being a “recovering addict”, Janet helps you get to the cause of your addiction and dismantle it."

Travelogue: Rosin the Bow with Joe and Paula McHugh (MH)Wednesday, May 25, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PMRosin the Bow explores the many roles the violin family of instruments play in the world today through a series of public radio programs, podcasts, and a comprehensive oral history. Traveling throughout the United States and other parts of the world, storyteller, fiddler, and award-winning radio journalist Joe McHugh and his wife Paula McHugh seek out interviews with violin makers, dealers, restorers, auctioneers, tone wood producers, insurance agents, museum curators, rosin makers, bow hair importers, string manufacturers—even police officers who have played a part in recovering stolen violins. The McHughs also interview gifted musicians who perform a variety of musical genres from classical and folk to jazz and rock. Join the McHughs for a lively evening of stories, music, and other "notable" surprises as they share what they learned during their travels. They will also perform an assortment of fiddle and banjo duets and Celtic slow airs plus share stories drawn from the rich musical folklore of America, Scotland, Ireland, and Scandinavia. This event will take place after hours at the library but patrons are encouraged to come early and stay late! Light refreshments will be served.
