We are thrilled to be participating in the first ever Old Colony Library Crawl along with 22 other libraries on the South Shore. How many libraries can you visit from Monday, June 5 through Saturday, June 17, 2023? Pick up your paper passport at any participating library and start tracking your journey. Our third annual Fantastic Fairy Houses is under way. Stop by the Children's Room to register for a fairy house kit now through June 9. We will be displaying each fairy house June 12-June 24 and voting on Best of Show and Best in each age group. This program is for ALL ages (kids, teens, and adults). Create alone or with your family! Registration for each fairy house kit is required.
 
We also have new books and events featured below. All programs are free and open to the public, and all programs are subject to change. We will post updates on our Events Calendar, Facebook, and Instagram.

Dungeons & Dragons One-Shot Game
Saturday, June 17 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Mystery and adventure await! Join us for a special, four-hour Dungeons & Dragons game. Whether you're interested in trying it for the first time or are a forever DM with a character you've been dying to play, this game is open to all interested adults. Choose between bringing your own 5th edition, level 6 character or use a pre-made character. Official content only - no homebrew, please. Registration Required
Trivia at Stellwagen Beer Co.
Wednesday, June 21 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
We have another outreach event with our community partners, Stellwagen Beer Company. Compete in four rounds of trivia for handmade prizes. Sign up your team today! Registration Required
Magic the Gathering 101
Saturday, June 24 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Interested in trying out the popular card game Magic: the Gathering, but never knew where or how to start? Learn to play and have your first game all in the same day. No supplies or prior experience needed; we will provide starter decks to all players, but you are welcome to bring your own deck if you have one. Registration Required

Fairy Storytime & Craft
June 5 at 10:00 a.m. & June 7 at 3:00 p.m.
You have two chances to join us! Stories will vary, but the craft will be the same for both programs.
 
Fairytale Tea Party
June 14 at 2:00 p.m.
We invite our friends in grades 2-5 for a fairytale tea party while their caregiver waits in the library. Enjoy a story, craft and a special snack! Be sure to wear your fairytale finery. Registration Required

Fairy House Craft Drop-In
June 15 at 3:00 p.m.
Drop in while supplies last to make your very own fairy house to take home! Adult supervision required for anyone under 9 years.
Truck-A-Palooza Summer Reading Kickoff!
Monday, June 26 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Join us for two hours of trucks! The Marshfield town departments will be bringing their coolest vehicles for you to see, touch and talk about! Then come inside and register for summer reading! Each child who registers during Truck-A-Palooza, will be eligible to win a gift card for Dairy Queen! Rain date is June 28.
 
The annual summer reading challenge will run from June 26 to August 16. Truck-A-Palooza is just the beginning of a full, fun summer here at Ventress Memorial Library! This year's Summer Reading theme is All Together Now, brought to you by the Ventress Memorial Library, CSLP, and Goodwill Hunters.
