Summer Reading ends on August 19! We've given away a lot of books as part of our Summer Reading challenge for all ages. We've had over 450 participants sign up to receive their free book, and many have already completed the challenge to receive additional free books. It's not too late, whether you're a kid, teen, or adult, to stop by the library and sign up to get your free book. Additionally, all participants who submit a completed challenge sheet by August 19 will be eligible for one of several grand prizes: three for kids, two for teens, and one for adults.
 
We also have new books and events featured below. All programs are free and open to the public, and all programs are subject to change. We will post updates on our Events Calendar, Facebook, and Instagram.

Board Game Meetup
Saturday, August 26 from 10:00  a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Come hang with the South of Boston Board Game Meetup and play games like Azul: Summer Pavilion, Wingspan, and more. Never heard of any of these games? That's okay! New and veteran players welcome. 
This month we are excited to welcome our friend Amanda Davis for an event celebrating her new book Moonlight Memories. We are also looking forward to our End of Summer Reading Bubble Dance party! And be sure to follow our Kids Facebook or Instagram!

Moonlight Memories Author Event
Monday, August 14 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Ages 9-12 and Caregivers
 
We are thrilled to welcome Amanda Davis, author of 30,000 Stitches, as she discusses her new book Moonlight Memories, her creative process, and how art, writing, and books can be a place of comfort and healing. Moonlight Memories tells the story of a young girl who is dealing with the loss of her Mama and finds comfort and healing through creativity. Amanda will have copies of Moonlight Memories and 30,000 Stitches available for purchase during the program! 
 
End of Summer Reading Bubble Dance Party
Wednesday, August 16 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Winslow House - 634 Careswell Street, Marshfield
 
Join us at the Winslow House as we celebrate all the reading we did and the fun we had throughout our Summer Reading program! There will be music, dancing, bubbles and water! Bring your sunscreen and water clothes! 
Our teen room and programs are open to folks ages 12-18. The Wave Makerspace is open to anyone age 12 and up by appointment - sign up today!

Princess / Pirate Workshop

It's finally here... the Teen Princess Pirate Workshop! Learn to swashbuckle with a real life pirate, ballroom dance with a real life princess, make your own princess crown, and go on a treasure hunt through the library!
Karaoke Party!
Wednesday, August 16 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Come celebrate the end of summer by singing your heart out! Zero talent required, just a good attitude. :)
We Updated Our Website!
We updated our website on July 1. It features new and improved event calendar, meeting room booking, and museum pass reservation systems, as well as updated and reorganized content for a more intuitive and accessible website. Huzzah!
