Mad Science Programs Sponsored by the Mass Cultural Council Don't Try This at Home Saturday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. We often encourage children to try some of our show experiments at home, but not with this show. Don't Try This at Home has some experiments that are not appropriate for children to do or require exotic chemicals. But they make for exciting demonstrations with lots of reactions and a BOOMing finale! Mad Science Workshop Series - Bubble Wonders Starting Wednesday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. In the first of this five-week series, preschoolers will see that a bubble is pocket of air that gets trapped inside a layer of water. Detergents and soaps give a bubble elasticity that allows it to grow and stretch as air is added. Adding other ingredients to a bubble solution changes the properties of the bubbles. This program is for preschool aged children 3-5 years old and one caregiver per family. Registration is required and limited. Mad Science Workshop Series - All About Animals Starting Wednesday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m. In the first of this five-week series, school-aged children will learn about diverse, astounding creatures on earth as they experiment with camouflage and get hands-on with real tooth and claw replicas. Children see what's inside animals and discover which animals are truly spineless! Organizing a wide range of creatures teaches how scientists classify everything from elephants to arachnids. The real circle of life is revealed as children explore and compare animal life cycles. This program is for school-aged children in grades K-5 and one caregiver per family. Registration is required and limited.
