Happy spring! This month, we celebrate National Library Week from April 7 to 13, with National Library Workers Day on Tuesday, April 9. Also, our Seed Library is stocked and ready to go, so whether you're hoping to grow flowers or veggies or herbs, we have something for you! Stop by the library for more information. Also, on Wednesday, April 17, we will have two special programs for kids and teens featuring ducks at the library, sponsored in-part by the Marshfield Cultural Council - read below for more information!
 
Finally, the Friends of the Ventress Memorial Library will hold a book sale at the library on Saturday April 27 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Sunday April 28 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Adult books will be sold for $1 each, and children's books priced even lower at 2/$1! Find an incredible selection of fiction, biographies, history, cookbooks, DVDs, and more! All proceeds directly benefit the Ventress Memorial Library.

Concert with Diane Taraz
Saturday, April 13 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Explore women's history through folk songs. Women in Europe and America from about 1500 to 1850 left few written records, but we can learn much about them through the music that they used to speed their work, lift their spirits, or ease an aching heart.
Poetry Reading with Bill Alberti
Tuesday, April 16 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Join us for a special poetry reading and discussion to celebrate National Poetry Month! Bill Alberti, a local poet and former newspaper columnist, will read original poetry and speak about what inspires a poem.

Elementary Storytime
Tuesday, April 16 from 10:00 - 10:45 p.m.
Join Miss Wendy for a laugh out loud story time geared toward our friends in K-5. Stories will be followed by some play time.
Lego Club
Tuesday, April 16 at 12:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. 
Come to the library to play with Legos! This casual
event is best for supervised children over 3 years old. This is not a librarian lead program. Children under nine years old must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Water Fowl at the Library
Wednesday, April 17 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Come learn about the ecology, habitats, and biology of sea birds and interact with live ducks and geese while learning about their unique morphology! This event is for our friends ages 5-11. All children under 9 years old must be with a caregiver. Registration required.
Let's Draw Animals
Thursday, April 18 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
So many of you asked for a second program, so we are bringing him back again for a repeat program! Learn to draw cartoon animals in this live in person program with award winning cartoonist Rick Stromoski. This program is for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers. 
The Poop Museum
Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
The Poop Museum covers the serious science of poop and pooping, and is delivered with the silliness that you might imagine accompanying a program about poop for young kids. Aimed at the 4-9 age group, the program engages kids as young as 3 and as old as 12. Registration Required.
The Teen Zone and teen programs are open to folks ages 12-18. The Wave Makerspace is open to anyone by appointment - sign up today!

Once the Library has closed, and all the adults have tucked in for the night, come to the library to play life-size games, watch movies, and more! Pizza, soda, and cookies will be provided. For folks 12-18 only! Registration Required.
Comfort Dogs + Cyber Safety
Wednesday, April 24 from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.
Early release day - head to The Teen Zone after school for a special presentation on Cyber Safety and an appearance by several of the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs!
