Back by popular demand, Greg Harber from Alabama Audubon will lead a two-part series on winter birding. Part l will feature winter water birds often seen at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and Lake Guntersville. Part ll will feature winter finches and other songbirds usually seen at feeders.

String quartet comprised of Samford University music faculty returns to Hoover!
 
Since its inception in 2011, the Samford Quartet has performed together in England, France, the Dominican Republic and throughout the United States. In addition to performing standard quartet literature, the quartet is also interested in playing new music, Appalachian music and sacred music.

Learn Calligraphy: The Journey of Two Master Penman
 
The first part of the program will follow Diane Mooney, the daughter of Master Penman, Mr. Dudley Arnold. Diane will share what is was like growing up with a father who was an expert in the art of engrossing and illumination. 
 
The second part of the program will be conducted by Birmingham Calligraphy Guild Founding Member, Jim Davis. He will share a documentary on the life of his friend and Master Penman, Mr. Bill Lilly.
 
This class is presented by the Birmingham Calligraphy Guild and sponsored by the Hoover Public Library. Registration and supplies for your first class are free! The BCG and HPL ask that you join the Guild for subsequent classes to allow more patrons the opportunity to attend.
