Early Learning Tablets for Kids Now Available The Dearborn Public Library has five new Playaway Launchpad tablets and volume-limiting headphones for use at each location. Playaway Launchpads for early learning are pre-loaded tablets with e-books and apps for learning skills such as phonics, number recognition, STEAM, and social skills.

Join in at any time during the above dates, the sooner the better! Join us for our 1st Annual Read-a-thon! Participants will receive a swag bag full of reading essentials including a journal to set reading goals, jot down thoughts, reflections, and reviews of the titles read. We encourage sharing thoughts on your readings on the Facebook event page, or by email. Each week one lucky participant will receive a free Dewey Decimal Dog tote bag. To wrap up our Read-a-thon, a dessert reception will be held on March 27th. Click here for details. $25 donation to participate. The FOLD Book Sale is held on the Second Wednesday of the month from 10am-6pm. Books, magazines, audiobooks, movies, and more are located in the 1st Floor Rotunda and in Room 113. Features for the month are: an extensive selection of books about philosophy and religion, and 50% off youth DVDs and youth hardcover J Fiction books. Items are sold as is. FOLD accepts cash, checks, and debit/credit cards.
FOLD also has a small, ongoing sale located on the 2nd Floor across from the Adult Reference Desk. These sale shelves are available for browsing and purchase during library hours up until 15 minutes before closing. Henry Ford Centennial Library - SparkLab 3rd Floor M12 Maker Space Tuesday, March 19, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM Teens and College-aged students can try their hand at cooking up healthy omelets and egg scrambles. Learn how to can customize those fluffy eggs with veggies and spice to give breakfast added yum. Tuesday, March 22, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Enjoy making and eating an Asian-inspired Skillet Dinner. Adults and Teens will learn how to turn vegetables, tofu and noodles into a tasty, one-pan meal. A list of ingredients being used will be available prior to the programs. The Library will be providing all ingredients. Space is limited and registration is required. This in-person cooking class is not socially distanced. Masks are optional, but encouraged.
